Diploma in Leadership

The diploma programme in leadership is an adult/continuing higher education program. This programme is directed at leaders and managers within all occupational groups of the private and public sector. The degree qualifies you to independently manage leadership tasks.

The typical student has either management experience from a job in a public institution: the educational or health sector or in local community administration, or from the private sector within economics, IT or production.
The aim is to qualify you to independently enter into cross-disciplinary and inter-sectorial co-operation in both public and private companies, institutions, administrations etc.

The education relates to operational leadership and theories hereof. The education is practice-related, and is executed on bachelor level. In addition, national and international research results are integrated in the education to the greatest degree possible.

A substantial part of the study deals with having a problematizing and analyzing perspective to various types of texts, and notably various forms of practice. The goal is to use what you read and at the same time to remain critical and constructive to both literature and experience.

Programme information

The study programme is a 1 year full-time programme, 60 ECTS (120 ECTS). The programme consists of six compulsory modules, three optional modules and a final project.

Compulsory modules:

1.The Personal Leadership:

●    Professional Leadership
2.Leadership and Employees:
●    Leadership in Dynamic Relations
●    Leadership in Relations of Learning and Competence
3.Leadership and Organization:
●    Organizations and Processes
●    Organization, Management and Strategy

Optional Modules:

The optional part consists of three modules. These electives are a structure on the compulsory subjects. The electives may have a special focus on specific problems of leadership with certain lines of business or sectors.

Final Project:

The final project must relate to the other modules of the education and elaborate on the work done in them, e.g. through project writing. The final project is carried out as an interaction between guidance, actual classes and self-study.

The full programme (AP Degree in Leadership and Management plus Diploma in Leadership) + two years’ relevant work experience is acknowledged as a programme of 120 ECTS (60 ECTS points for each year).
